Join the Gates Foundation Discovery Center for an inspiring Earth Day event focused on innovation, sustainability, and action. Explore how the Gates Foundation and its partners are tackling global challenges through bold innovations in sanitation, agriculture, climate resilience, and health. 

Connect with organizations and changemakers, get hands-on with interactive activities, and discover solutions shaping a healthier, more sustainable future. 

Event Highlights 

Innovation Showcase | Explore cutting-edge projects supported by the Gates Foundation and local partners such as: 

  • Climate-smart agriculture: Innovations like Orange-Fleshed Sweet Potatoes, a nutrient-rich, climate-resilient crop helping to combat malnutrition. 
  • Sustainable sanitation: Discover breakthrough solutions improving access to clean water and preventing disease. 

Sanitation & Climate Impact Tour | Take a guided tour through our latest exhibition and learn how sanitation connects to the Sustainable Development Goals, climate resilience and health. 

Hands-On Activities | Learn, create, and take action! 

  • Button Making: Create a custom button to spread awareness.
  • Scavenger Hunt: Engage with exhibits and discover solutions for a healthier planet.  
  • Water Tasting: Experience the science of clean water, inspired by our sanitation exhibit. 

Agriculture & Climate Resilience | Supporting small farmers & sustainable food systems. 

  • DIY Newspaper Pots with Tilth Alliance. Create eco-friendly seed-starting pots using recycled newspaper!
  • Create Your Own Seed Ball: Take home native plant seed balls to support local biodiversity. 
  • Special Tour: Farmers, Cows & Beans: Understand how small-scale innovations are transforming food security.
