Despite progress on gender equality, a persistent gender gap in earnings remains. Women globally still earn, on average, 20% less than men for the same work. The main drivers of these persistent gender gaps are, among others, women’s limited financial inclusion and the unequal burden of unpaid care work. Women are 9% less likely than men to have access to a bank account, restricting their ability to save, invest, or start businesses. Join us as Radu Ban, Senior Program Officer, Gender Data and Evidence; Women’s Economic Empowerment discusses key challenges in this field.
